Quand on navigue en mer on fait face à toutes sortes de pollutions, la principale étant la pollution plastique, tant sur les plages qu’au large. En mer on voit ces déchets passer devant notre coque, parfois ça se coince dans la quille. Les océans sont les premiers touchés par cette pollution qui vient de la terre mais qui descend dans les océans. La situation est très triste mais en même temps je pense qu’une vraie prise de conscience s’est opérée ces dernières années.

In few other places in the world have I seen first-hand the power and the beauty of nature as in Namibia. Among one of the least populated countries in the world, it's possible to travel for hours through the vast and stunning horizons of the country without running into a single person.
One of these wild and natural wonders is Sandwich Harbour Lagoon; located along Namibia's Atlantic Ocean coast, just south of the town of Walvis Bay. Sandwich Harbour is famous for the stunning scenes of 100+-metres dunes directly meeting the ocean.

L'océan c'est un monde souterrain, un écosystème où des milliards de créatures vivent au gré des marées et des étoiles. L'océan, c'est la vie, telle une forêt, c'est un poumon de notre planète terre. Comme tout organe, il faut en prendre soin, mais l'océan étouffe: plastiques, déchets de la pêche, déversements industriels, tourisme...

La planète bleue, ce sont les océans, ces vastes étendues d'eau magnifiques qui ont donné son surnom à notre planète. Depuis la Lune ou l'espace, la Terre est bleue.
Tout d'abord, on pense à toutes ces nuances de bleu aux quatre coins du monde, les noms des mers qui nous font rêver avec leurs plages paradisiaques, le Soleil, la bronzette, les cocotiers...
L’océan, c'est la liberté, prendre le large, mettre les voiles et partir à l'aventure sous la voûte étoilée. C'est le lieu parfait pour méditer, pour trouver le silence et la paix.

Many people living in towns and cities have turned their backs on the ocean. Yet they keep us alive. They carry 80 per cent of the world’s trade and they are a vital component of the global climate system. They teem with life and their depths are largely unexplored – we know more about outer space than about our own oceans. We need a new attitude towards the oceans that connect us: we need to look back towards them, reconnect with them, and take care of them. We are kept alive by the tides of the oceans.

I’m a sailor, so I’m at sea everyday and the way we’ve been using and treating the ocean has caused an impact and this is something we need to change. It’s something I’m very aware of. It’s an urgent issue, you see the oceans problems when you’re out sailing everyday in the forms of plastic pollution for example. So I think it’s important to raise people’s awareness about the oceans. I have a degree in Oceanography so I’m kind of a water scientist. I know it’s not just about what you see; right now I’m sailing in France, but I know it’s a worldwide problem. I think we need to change the way we use single-use plastic and the way we use the oceans in general.

"Océan Attitude", quelle belle initiative, tant dans le concept que dans l'impact de cette démarche. L'océan mondial couvre les 2/3 de notre planète, il est source de vie, de diversité, de ressources et de services pour la société, il régule notre climat et les cycles de la matière. En même temps, il reste difficile à appréhender comparativement aux écosystèmes émergés et de ce fait, il fait l'objet de beaucoup moins d'attention de la part des êtres humains, de pressions anthropiques souvent mal appréhendées. Susciter une "Océan attitude" est une idée qui mériterait d'être élargie, renforcée et relayée au plan international.

Ocean for me is symbol of life. I love living near the Ocean and observing its behavior.As an Architect and Urban Planner, I advocate the responsible use of water for planning, design and therapeutic purposes.
